JFI : Lime/Lemon round up
I chose lemon/ lime for this month’s Jhiva as it is one of my most favourite ingredient simply because of its very appealing color, the smell and flavour.
Thank you all for the wonderful entries. After a short hiatus from the blog world, I was literally pulling myself to come to the blog. But somehow the excitement to host the event pulled me through and how! Choosing the ingredient was an excitement on its own, and as the entries kept pouring in my enthusiasm kept building up. It was a good way to come back indeed.
Thank you Indira for this wonderful opportunity. I throughly enjoyed my way through it.
When life gives you lemon…..
… grab it by the throat and demand better
… just shut up and eat those damn lemons
… find somebody you despise and squirt them in the eye
… Sell ‘em on eBay
… Aim well and throw them at someone’s head
OR
make any of these….. ![]()

I just wanted to know if you borrowed the blog punch line idea from someone else’s blog. I just ask you this because , late in december 2007, I read a blog on yahoo that had the blog title ” When life hands you lemons…” and the blog pretty much then goes ahead and lists the recipes one could make out of lemons, much akin to what you have done here on your blog.
Since your blog is only dated March , 2008 while that other person’s blog is dated older than your’s i.e Dec 2007, I wanted to ask if you borrowed the idea of the ‘play of words’ and the idea of listing the recipes from their blog.
If so , I would suggest that It would be a great idea to generate one’s own punch lines or else it amounts to plagiarism
The proverb, If life gives you lemons……… is a very common proverb which everyone has been using it through ages. The others which follow as the secone part of the proverb….. grab it by the throat and demand better
… just shut up and eat those damn lemons
… find somebody you despise and squirt them in the eye
… Sell ‘em on eBay
… Aim well and throw them at someone’s head
are some of those which we have used it very often amongst our group of friends when someone wants to make a mockery of how his/her life is going………. so it is not “stolen” from anywhere and neither is the idea. I haven’t seen/read this from any other blog
I agree that plagiarism is very high these days on the net but i know the consequences and wouldn’t stoop down to it.
Appreciate your concern about it. - coffee
P.S. I tried to email you the whole comment as a reply but for some reason it didn’t go through. I got a delivery failure notification.
